“The Starry Night” (2015) is an electroacoustic music composition by Augusto Meijer.
It was presented at Klingt Gut! Symposium on Sound at the Arts and Media campus in Hamburg. A short lecture about the composition was given during the symposium.

The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and the Audio Engineering Society Student Section Hamburg are pleased to announce the second installment of klingt gut! Symposium on Sound at the Arts and Media Campus in Hamburg.

For three days international artists and scientists will present their work in the fields of sound design, sound art, electro-acoustic music, and the interdependence of aesthetics and technology.
Participants will enjoy a series of informative lectures, hands-on workshops, and interactive panel discussions as well as cutting edge installations and performances at Germany’s most state-of-the-art media campus.

Acousmatic Transcendence

‘Acousmatic Transcendence: A Feast of Diffusion’ is a series of events taking place in three consecutive days comprising spatial sound workshops and concerts. The events bring together two sound diffusion systems (from the University of Kent and Vienna) that amount to 65 loudspeakers.

Utopia” (2014, Augusto Meijer) will be performed by Thomas Gorbach on 25th September 2015.

Gaudeamus muziekweek, HKU lunchconcert

The Gaudeamus Muziekweek, held annually at the beginning of September in Utrecht, presents the newest music by the youngest generation of composers, in exciting programming formats at extraordinary locations. The Gaudeamus Muziekweek is THE international meeting place for young composers from all over the world. An important part of the Gaudeamus Muziekweek is the Gaudeamus Prize, an award to encourage composers younger than 30.

A sound preview for the ‘Hypercube” installation project was presented at a lunchconcert, organised by the Utrecht School of the Arts.

Soundscape @ Manifesta9 – parralel events

Lichtval is a spatial light installation by Jaap van den Elzen whose shape is loosely based on the elevator cars from the mines. But where the miners entered a world of total darkness, in Lichtval the spectator enters a dynamic space of light. A soundscape has been created exclusively for the installation.

Soundscape & Musicdesign for modern dance

“World in Between” is a modern dance experiment by Katja Graessli.
Performers are placed inside an everyday life situation, which is being transformed into an abstract experience for the audience to enjoy.

“Structures” is a research composition project, which will be presented at the International Computer Music Conference 2012 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

International Computer Music Conference

The 2012 International Computer Music Conference will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is organized by IRZU – the Institute for Sonic Arts Research and supported by the Faculty of Computer and Information Science as well as the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. IRZU is a young non government organization, based on an interdisciplinary concept and is conducting artistic productions in the field of electro-acoustic music / inter-media performances and installations, as well as audio technology research and educational activities.

Urban Spectator soundscape get’s a radio premier!

Augusto has created a soundscape for a temporarily art exhibition in Hilversum: “Made in Hilversum”. The concept is to create a mixture of fine art pieces being enriched by electroacoustic sounds, played back in the space. The resulting exhibition is called “Urban Spectator”.

HKU Spectrum #1: soundscape for art exhibition

HKU Spectrum is a project concept, concerning electroacoustic compositions from Utrecht School of the Arts, in collaboration with various art forms. This concept is founded by Konstantinos Vasilakos & Augusto Meijer.
